WINTER EQUINOX FEAST

Sunday . December 19 . 2004 . 3:00 p.m.
Hidden Valley Institute of the Arts, Carmel Valley, California

We began these seasonal feasts in 1998. This was the 28th
consecutive event, and the final one in this series.

the adventure is in the gathering
with complete respect,
withholding judgments, never to invade,
free to create and free to enjoy
the moment and the place…
let the art work . . .

Only these TWO RULES:
1. Regard all with absolute, unconditional respect…
2. Try to withhold all judgments during the feast…

Everything we do is music, and anywhere is the best seat in the house.

integrative open process art

Integrative means that in the work we share a responsibility that recognizes us each in our uniqueness together with all, in the All…

Open process means that there are only two rules and that we do not know in advance how the structure of the feast will emerge.

Art refers to any and all art forms; feasts have included dance, music, poetry, drama, mime, storytelling, painting, calligraphy, sculpture, videos, crayons and paper, performance art, and combinations of the above…

Feasts have a simple feeling of freedom and ease (no rows of chairs, iffy applause, complete freedom of movement and space, basic food)—combined with a sense of a handing one another off from trapeze to trapeze to trapeze… At best there is a sense of the companionship of awareness enthusiasts…

Those attending have numbered from four to about forty... The feast with four was splendid...

Come and go as you please...

There is no charge, but all contributions will be cheerfully received…
